LATEST NEWS:Prior to the trade deadline, the Pacers acquire Pascal Siakam, a two-time All-Star…
The Indiana Pacers have acquired forward Pascal Siakam from the Toronto Raptors in exchange for Bruce Brown, Jordan Nwora and three first-round picks (2 in 2024, 2026)
“We’re incredibly excited to welcome Pascal to Indiana,” President of Basketball Operations Kevin Pritchard said in a statement. “As a two-time All-NBA selection and two-time NBA All-Star, Pascal is a player that our organization has long admired and respected.”
Siakam, an All-Star in 2019, helped lead the Toronto Raptors to the NBA championship that same season and is considered a premier two-way player in the league. Currently, Siakam is averaging 22.2 points, 6.3 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game this season, per
“I am excited for the journey, I am excited to be a Pacer,” Siakam said in a video to fans after arriving in Indianapolis.
The Pacers are hoping that Siakam can enable them to go far in the postseason this year. With a 24–17 record, they have qualified as the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference.
“We think his special offensive skill set will fit in well with our style of play, and his defensive versatility will be a great asset to our team,” Pritchard said.
The Pacers also acquired Kira Lewis Jr. from the New Orleans Pelicans in addition to Siakam. Lewis is seen as a talented young point guard and was selected with the 13th overall choice in the 2020 NBA draft. According to Basketball Reference, he is averaging 1.9 points and 1.8 assists per game this season.
Given that the Pacers are forfeiting two young players with great potential in Bruce Brown and Jordan Nwora as well as three first-round selections, many supporters see the transaction as a huge bet.
The primary contribution Pascal Siakam makes, in the opinion of basketball enthusiast and Indianapolis resident Drew Stephany, is his experience. “However, I am not entirely convinced that he can solve all of our problems.”
In spite of this, Siakam is an established player who might help the club advance with Haliburton, Turner, Toppin, and Mathurin.
“Working hard and giving it everything I have to try and get some wins is if there is one thing I am known for,” Siakam said.
For the Indiana Pacers, Siakam intends to wear 43, just as he did in Toronto.

“A Mercedes car driven by the fugitive driver seems to have impacted an unconnected vehicle from behind, causing two further unrelated vehicles to be struck as a consequence. Brabant said, “The Mercedes lost control and caught fire.”
“We are unable to verify whether the Mercedes was carrying only the driver or another person, but it seems that the occupant(s) were last observed driving away eastward in another vehicle due to conflicting witness reports.”
We are asking witnesses to call Traffic Services at 416-808-1900 if they have dash camera footage and have not yet talked to the police.
