Posey is concerned about the Packers’ advantages in the trenches for the 49ers, especially when Green Bay’s defence faces up against San Francisco’s offence. Pressure is the key to a Purdy turnover, as defensive lineman Devonte Wyatt has previously mentioned this week. However, Mosqueda and Posey disagree as to whether or not Wyatt is true in his assertion.
The 49ers’ offensive skill players and the Packers’ defence, especially with Kyle Juszczyk on the field, are the main areas of concern for Mosqueda and the Packers. Except for Christian McCaffrey of San Francisco, Juszczyk lines up wide more often than any other running back in the NFL. Green Bay’s defence suffers against heavy personnel offences that line up in spread or empty formations while their standard 3-4 defence is on the field, as we’ve seen in the past. With George Kittle, McCaffrey, Juszczyk, Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk, and the 49ers in a 21-man lineup, which would be preferable—a nickel front against an I formation run or a 3-4 base front against an empty formation pass?
