“Those who really follow or know me are aware that I have never made negative remarks against the @dallascowboys as a group or team, a player on the club, or the city of Dallas. My problem is with the so-called supporters,” said Prescott.

As he gets ready for a do-or-die 2024 with the Cowboys, Mike McCarthy will not be getting a contract extension, a new report claims.

Following the Cowboys’ home loss to the Packers in the first round of the playoffs, which saw them seeded as the NFC’s second seed, there was conjecture that McCarthy may be fired. McCarthy will be coming back, owner Jerry Jones subsequently confirmed.

Nevertheless, in an attempt to save his job, McCarthy will coach the next season under an expired contract, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

This is an unusual move since coaches often get extended contracts or dismissed before they expire.

Schefter points out that in 2014 and 2019, McCarthy’s predecessor Jason Garrett coached in Dallas on a contract that was about to expire.

Despite leading Dallas to a 42-25 record in four seasons, McCarthy has only won one playoff game during his three postseason appearances with the Cowboys.

“With Mike McCarthy as our head coach, we will take the best step forward,” Jones said in a statement made public on Wednesday.
