The Bills are in need of snow shovelers ahead of their playoff matchup with the Chiefs…
Once again, the Buffalo Bills are turning to Bills Mafia for assistance in getting ready for a home playoff game.
The Bills made the announcement on Thursday that they would need more help shovelling snow at Highmark Stadium in preparation for their divisional playoff matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.
Potential shovelers should go to the Orchard Park, New York, location by Friday at 2:00 p.m. ET to register. Shovelers will get $20 per hour in compensation, and the team promises to offer a “comfortable warm break area.”
Shovelers need to have a valid picture ID and be at least eighteen years old, or have appropriate working documents if they are younger. When shovelling between sitting sections, the Bills urge that shovelers wear weather-appropriate clothing and, if at all feasible, carry your own shovel.
For the second time in the last week, a lake-effect snowfall has struck Western New York. The NFL and New York Governor Kathy Hochul cited public safety concerns as the reason for delaying Buffalo’s wild-card game against the Pittsburgh Steelers from Sunday to Monday due to the first storm in the region.
Even before the delay on Saturday, the Bills had issued a call for shovelers, and teams laboured on Sunday and into Monday night to excavate the stadium. As of Monday morning, just hours before kickoff, the club was still looking for shovelers after Orchard Park had an 18-inch snow pour.

17 HOURS AGO: Patrick Mahomes of the Chiefs travelled to Buffalo for the first time ever to play in the playoffs.
There was still snow on most of the stadium seats when the gates opened for Steelers vs. Bills. Fans cleared the snow with their hands or pieces of cardboard, borrowing shovels from guest services.
Another storm has pounded the area after Buffalo defeated Pittsburgh 31–17. The National Weather Service (via NBC station WGRZ) reports that Orchard Park got 21 inches of snow from Tuesday through Thursday morning. More snow is predicted for Friday and maybe Saturday.
Bills overcome Steelers to go to the divisional round for the fourth time in a row.
After defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers in the wild-card round, the Buffalo Bills moved on to the divisional round.
Even though Sunday is predicted to be quite chilly, snow is not anticipated to be an issue. With a high of 25 degrees, a low of 18, and an 11% chance of precipitation, the gameday outlook is mostly overcast.
In frigid Kansas City conditions on Saturday, the Chiefs defeated the Miami Dolphins 26-7, setting the record for one of the coldest NFL games ever.
The Chiefs-Bills game begins at 6:30 p.m. ET with the winner earning a trip to the AFC Championship Game.
Bill Simmons compares Josh Allen’s entertaining but unsuccessful Bills to Dominique Wilkins’ Hawks, believing that the Chiefs grudge match is the most significant game of Allen’s career.
Bill Simmons and Peter Schrager of Fox Sports and NFL Network spoke about the impending NFL divisional-round games on a recent edition of the Bill Simmons podcast. They concentrated on Josh Allen, the quarterback, and the Buffalo Bills’ game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Simmons compared Allen’s performance to that of Dominique Wilkins during the 1980s Atlanta Hawks, underlining that this game is the pinnacle of Allen’s career. He compared the Bills to Wilkins’ Hawks, a team that was fun to watch but eventually failed in the postseason.
“For Josh Allen, this is the biggest game of his life. He is in the Dominique Wilkins position from the 1980s, when everyone is saying, “Hey, cool, you’re in some fun playoff series.”
Schrager concurred, saying Josh Allen is going to have a successful year. Schrager emphasised the chance for Allen to benefit from his postseason experience, particularly against Lamar Jackson if that game materialises, with Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow out and the Bills taking on the Chiefs at home.
“Josh Allen is going to have a great year because Burrow is out, you’re playing the Chiefs at home, and you have all the playoff experience you need over Lamar Jackson, if that’s the matchup.”
Six times in his career, Allen acknowledged the importance of playing at home against a club that had eliminated the Bills from the postseason the previous two years. He understood that the Bills were up against a strong opponent and that they needed to play their best ball.
“The last several years, they have defeated us in the playoffs. We had a home game at last.
Allen stressed the significance of ending the playoffs losing streak against the Chiefs despite his 3-0 regular season record against them, understanding that his postseason results would ultimately determine his fate.
“We’ve traded a few times during the regular season, so we know each other well, but we haven’t defeated them in the postseason yet,” Allen said. “This is a team that performs best when called upon, so we need to figure out how to, as I mentioned, put in our best effort and carry out our game plan.”
Given the odds against the Chiefs and Allen’s high expectations, Sunday’s game should be the biggest of his career.
