“He Just Doesn’t Look Like A Rookie Quarterback Out There.”

“I know how to win,” Mike McCarthy said, certain of his capacity to lead the Cowboys into the playoffs.
“You didn’t measure up. Jay Gruden responds to RGIII, saying, “Kirk was better,” as the former Washington quarterback and the coach continue to spar on social media.
The Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans have postseason history together. Their only meeting was in the Divisional Round in 2011, when John Harbaugh’s team defeated the Texans under the direction of DeMeco Ryans, who is now their head coach.

Former Texan Jadeveon Clowney of the Ravens is getting ready for his sixth matchup with his former team, but this will be his first in the postseason. The 30-year-old isn’t thinking about getting even. That’s just plain business to him.

The following game is this one. It’s more important to win than to worry about the Texans because it’s the playoffs. Much more is on the line. “It’s win or go home,” Clowney said honestly.

After spending five years in Houston and earning three Pro Bowl selections, the defensive veteran is now on his sixth NFL club. Clowney has won each of their four meetings with the Texans since 2018. In their most recent match, the Ravens defeated the Texans 25-9 in Week 1.

However, since then, C.J. Stroud, the rookie quarterback for Houston, has developed into a seasoned player since football is an evolutionary sport. Clowney notes the change and highlights Stroud’s composure, judgement, and ball-protection skills.

Clowney noted that Stroud had improved from their initial encounter, saying, “He just doesn’t look like a rookie quarterback out there.” This time, the defensive force wants to mess with Stroud’s rhythm.

Clowney was unable to remove Stroud from the game in Week 1, but he was able to hit the quarterback. When Clowney thought back on his debut, he said, “Yeah, I was getting off the couch that time too. I thus became better as he did.”

As Clowney enters Year 10, he hopes to make a breakthrough in the playoffs. Although he is 4-0 versus the Texans, he hasn’t yet recorded a touchdown. There’s an opportunity on Saturday to change that story and get beyond the Divisional Round.

You never know how many years you have left; I’m in Year 10. This is significant for me and where I am in my job. My only hope is that I can keep supporting this team and assist us achieve our ultimate objective, which is to win a Super Bowl. Clowney laid out his goals for this playoff matchup, saying, “And like I said, we’ve got to knock the Texans off just to do that.”
