trade to the Lakers seems to be dead, according to recent rumours…

Due to the team’s connection to Atlanta Hawks guard Dejounte Murray, an intriguing name has surfaced as a possible trade target for the Lakers. Simply put, the Murray-Trae Young combination isn’t working in Atlanta, and the Hawks seem determined to make a change as soon as possible.

Murray seems like the ideal addition to this squad. He would provide Los Angeles with a superior second ballhandler and still has the potential to be an All-Defensive player. Although there are some stylistic differences between Murray and LeBron James, pairing Murray with LeBron would be lot simpler than pairing him with Young.

When you consider that he is a client of Klutch Sports, it seems like the ideal situation for everyone. Even while it sounds fantastic in theory, it does not seem to be a reality. Insider Michael Scotto discussed Atlanta’s probable asking price for Murray and how it affects the Lakers’ chances of pursuing him in his most recent piece for Hoops Hype.

“The Ringer reports that Atlanta is seeking at least two first-round selections. According to league insiders who spoke with HoopsHype, the Hawks do not plan to recoup payroll after this year. In addition, Guard D’Angelo Russell would probably be a part of any structure for a Murray deal to the Lakers, NBA insiders told HoopsHype. That would only apply if Russell was traded to a different Atlanta club during that process. The Hawks don’t think Russell’s player option of $18.69 million for the next season and his style of play next to Trae Young are a good match. ESPN said that Los Angeles would almost definitely need to include their 2029 first-round selection.

The Lakers’ trade of Dejounte Murray is reportedly dead.
Scotto continued by outlining the ways in which the Lakers may improve the trade’s worth. Although Scotto brought up the subject, it is crucial to remember that the Hawks selected Kobe Bufkin above JHS, indicating they may not place much weight on rookie point guard Jalen Hood-Schifino.

According to earlier reports, Scotto also discussed the Austin Reaves-related dynamics of the move. Even though Reaves’ stats suggest a trade, the Lakers are unwilling to part with the former undrafted rookie, even if Atlanta is interested in him.

Lakers supporters should conclude from all of this that a Murray deal is just not going to occur. With their current roster of players and little draft capital, the Lakers find it difficult to put together a deal that would satisfy all of Atlanta’s expectations.

The Lakers could need to upgrade for an inferior player in order to strengthen the squad rather than concentrating on Murray. Malcolm Brogdon is an example of someone who would make a lot of sense, particularly because he is on an expiring contract and might not cost much elsewhere.

Whether it’s Brogdon or someone like Alex Caruso, the Lakers will obviously have to let go of their hopes for a Murray trade. Even though he would be amazing next to LeBron and Anthony Davis, it doesn’t seem likely that he will be joining them for the Lake Show.

Two Knicks trade options are of interest to the Los Angeles Lakers.

The New York Knicks, who are searching for facilitators, have expressed a strong desire to have backup guard assistance. Immanuel Quickley’s injury has left the Knicks desperately short-staffed in the offensive department. Other clubs are expressing interest in some of the names they are considering, however. Instead of pursuing Zach LaVine, the Los Angeles Lakers are allegedly going to look at two of the Knicks’ top targets.

The Lakers are reportedly interested in Tyus Jone and Collin Sexton, according ESPN’s Dave McMenamin.

“You’re going to look at the Lakers searching the market for a point guard, and Tyus Jones of the Washington Wizards is a guy you can look at.” He is quite efficient and 27 years old.

McMenamin said that Collin Sexton is another person that interests them.

Collin Sexton is another man you should consider. A combo guard by trade, 25-year-old Rich Paul also represents LeBron James and Anthony Davis. He is swiftly becoming a competitive and fit player, averaging around 17 points and 4 assists each game. Although those players aren’t on the same level as Zach Lavine or Pascal Siakam, they could be able to save this club in the closing stages, particularly with Gabe Vincent out due to a knee injury.

Pregame @SportsCenter spoke with @KevinNegandhi on the current version of the Lakers starting lineup. In addition, there are a few names they could try to acquire in trades and one name they probably won’t choose.Twitter.com/TMCO3o_4y25

The Knicks Are Interested in Bench Assistance
The Toronto Raptors transaction has piqued the curiosity of the New York Knicks in bench support. After losing Quickley and RJ Barrett, the club is in dire need of assistance, so don’t be surprised if they make a few moves to bolster their output.

Speaking about the Knicks phoning on Jones, ESPN’s Tim MacMahon said that they need to inquire as to what the Washington Wizards are searching for.

“I’m just saying that if I were the Knicks, I would call the Utah Jazz to trade for Collin Sexton and Jordan Clarkson.” In reference to Tyus Jones, I would be contacting Washington, MacMahon said on the podcast “Hoop Collective.”

It’s important to keep in mind that the Knicks have the resources necessary to complete these transactions as the deadline draws near. Regardless matter who they add, New York’s draft money gives them the ability to execute almost any deal at this deadline.

The Knicks Are Richer Than the Lakers
If any of these players wind up heading to the Los Angeles Lakers, it will be because the Knicks chose not to go after them or forfeit the draft capital required to get them.

The Lakers don’t have many tradeable players save Austin Reaves. If they think the players they’re getting back would assist them now, they could opt to sell Reaves, but it wouldn’t make much sense.

Moving their best young player doesn’t assist the Lakers, unless it’s for a superstar, as they must begin planning for life without LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

Jones and Sexton may be helpful additions, but if you’re the Knicks or Lakers, they probably won’t make the difference in a championship victory or loss.
