“I’m not too concerned. While I still want to perform well, playing well is my first priority. I would rather play poorly and lose than perform well and win.
“My exhibits are the most important thing to me. I have to make time for the 20–25 exhibits I have committed to doing each year.
“The next two months are crucial for me since I have 20–30 day obligations for my sponsors.
That truly is my own kind of thing. I basically simply play enough tournaments to clear my schedule. Without competitions, I wouldn’t put in as much practice.
The seven-time world champion is hoping to break the record he shares with the legendary Scottish player Hendry at the Crucible cauldron. Additionally, the Chigwell potter has laid out his timetable in an effort to peak just in time for a Crucible charge.
