Contrary to his head coach Kyle Shanahan, quarterback Brock Purdy of the San Francisco 49ers refrained from stating that he knew as early as the second quarter of the Wild Card round that they would be facing the Green Bay Packers in the divisional round. He treated the Dallas Cowboys with a little more deference.
Reporters questioned Purdy on Wednesday about when he realised the Packers, not the Cowboys, would be moving on to the next round of the NFL Playoffs. Mike McCarthy’s team was the clear favourite going into the game, but Jordan Love and company dominated from the beginning to the end to win 48–32.

In response, Purdy expressed his continued scepticism about the outcome, particularly in light of the Cowboys’ apparent resurgence in the latter stages of the game. However, he acknowledged that once the Packers took a 41-16 lead in the third quarter, he sort of had a gut feeling they would prevail.
“You never know.” You never know, since the Cowboys were pushing towards the finish. But as they stood up and took a sizable lead in the third quarter, I thought, “Well, this is probably the team.” However, like I said before, you never know,” Purdy remarked via 49ers WebZone.
When the Cowboys began to make a comeback, everything seemed to be okay. You’re simply observing, and as soon as the clock reaches zero, you can see that it’s time to move on. That team will be the Packers. They were prepared to compete against the Cowboys, and it was a terrific game to witness. They performed really well. Thus, I suppose that in the third quarter, I began to believe that we would be playing the Packers.
It’s important to remember that the Dallas Cowboys never truly had a chance against the Green Bay Packers, even if it’s good that Brock Purdy showed some respect for them. Their desperate effort to close the deficit during their late run in the Wild Card round was all that it was.
The Packers had shut down the Cowboys offence for the first three quarters, so there was no way they would let themselves fall apart in the fourth.

Coach Kyle Shanahan of the San Francisco 49ers’ brutal critique of the Green Bay Packers’ victory
As previously noted, Kyle Shanahan gave a more direct evaluation of the Green Bay Packers vs. Dallas Cowboys game. The San Francisco 49ers coach responded to the same question last Tuesday by saying that he knew the Packers were in after taking a 27-0 lead halfway through the second quarter.
Regarding getting ready for the Packers, Shanahan said, “We started really focusing on them halfway during the second quarter [vs. the Cowboys]”.
Whatever the differences in opinion between Brock Purdy and Kyle Shanahan, one thing is for sure: both players are well aware of the danger that Green Bay poses.
