TRADE NEWS: According to mythology, a legendary expressed interest in obtaining an NBA Champion forward.

Dallas Mavericks supporters also learned some fresh information about some of the players the Mavs are interested in dealing for, as the trade rumours surrounding Pascal Siakam finally came to an end today with his trade to the Indiana Pacers.

The Mavericks are connected to Golden State Warriors player Andrew Wiggins, according to Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports, who also mentioned P.J. Washington and Dorian Finney-Smith. The Warriors were reportedly considering moving Wiggins in December, and he has since surfaced in trade rumours associated with the Mavs.

Given his enormous salary that the Mavs would be taking on, Wiggins would fit perfectly into the starting lineup for them. Dallas could even wind up getting him for a decent price.

Dallas Mavericks reportedly express interest in acquiring NBA Champion forward
Wiggins is averaging 11.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 42.2 percent from the field and 29.6 percent from three point range a game for the Warriors this season. A change of scenery may be just what Wiggins needs since he is having a rough year and is posting career lows in points per game, assists per game, steals per game, and 3-point %.

Wiggins is a skilled slasher and finisher who can also make his own shots and score three points off the grab. Although his statistics this season don’t reflect it, he shot 3-pointers previous season at a rate close to 40%.

Although Wiggins’ defensive statistics this season are obviously not the finest, he has previously shown excellent defence, particularly during the Warriors’ 2022 NBA Finals run. In these playoffs, he averaged 1.0 thefts and 1.0 blocks per game. In the Finals, he also had to play some defence against Jayson Tatum.

Dallas may be the ideal location for Wiggins, a former NBA Champion, to resume playing at a high level. The Mavs may be able to acquire Wiggins for a reasonable price and use his contract as draft capital.

He matches the Mavericks’ previously stated desire to improve at small forward or power forward, and depending on what they would have to give up, he might make this club a real contender.
