Ronald Powell, a 32-year-old former NFL linebacker with the New Orleans Saints, died unexpectedly.

Julian Galette, a former colleague, shared the following on social media.

I will always love you till we cross paths again,” Galette posted on X on Monday night. “A SUPERB FATHER. Honoured sibling and devoted son.

It gives me great sadness to inform everyone else that Ronald Powell transitioned earlier today. Slumber in peace, Ronald Powell.
It is unknown what caused the death.

During his rookie season, Powell played in 14 games after signing with the Saints in the fifth round of the 2014 draft.

He only played in 14 NFL games, despite having stints with the Buccaneers, Bears, and Seahawks.
He was a Florida Gators player and a five-star college prospect.
In the class of 2010, he was the top prospect.
