Pascal Siakam deal tracker most recent information and rumours on the Raptors forward’s potential trade with the …

There could be movement on a Pascal Siakam and Pacers trade agreement with just a few weeks to go before the trade deadline on February 8.

Ever since Siakam, 29, said he will be a free agent after the 2023–24 season, there have been rumours about his future with the Raptors. For the most part, the rumours have been connecting the dots—Sikam is still in the peak of his career, and Toronto is starting a little rebuild.

There’s a lot to analyse about Siakam’s circumstances. If he goes as a free agency, the Raptors may lose him for nothing, and interested clubs will naturally be hesitant to commit to a deal that does not include a long-term pact.

With a season average of 22.2 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 4.9 assists, Siakam has a lot of leverage and a chance to make his first career free agency entry.

Is Siakam’s status as one of the best players in the game enough, considering all the factors involved, for Indiana to pursue a trade aggressively? Is there another team involved? Or will an agreement be made in Toronto of some kind?

What we may infer about Siakam from the rumours is as follows.

Deal rumours involving Pascal Siakam
Regarding a Siakam deal, the Raptors and Pacers “are in active talks.”
Date: January 17, Tuesday

Sam Amick and Shams Charania, The Athletic

After Charania and Amick revealed that Toronto and Indiana “are actively engaged” in a transaction that would make Siakam a Pacer, rumours connecting Siakam with the team gained fresh vigour.

This report had a thorough trading structure, in contrast to previous rumours from the past. The reported rumour claims that Siakam would join the Pacers in return for a deal that also includes three first-round selections, Bruce Brown Jr., and “other salaries,” which might refer to the contracts of a single player or a group of players totaling around $8 million.

The Raptors and Pacers’ discussions have “gained steam” in recent days, the source continues.

The Raptors and Pacers deal may not happen soon.

Michael Grange via Sportsnet

An hour after Charania and Amick’s report, Grange went to X to provide his assessment of the current state of discussions.

“I don’t get (the) sense anything is imminent, but who knows,” Grange wrote. He continued, “We’ll see if this gets pushed over (the) line or if it’s just a sign market is ramping up.”

With regard to the possible trade return, Grange said, Toronto’s readiness to go forward with a transaction would mostly rely on the young players it gets back, with Canadian guards Andrew Nembhard and Bennedict Mathurin, both in their second year, ranking highly on the list.

According to Grange, the market may be heating up, which means a different club might try to outbid the Pacers for the player.

Teams that have shown interest in Siakam include the Hawks, Kings, Pistons, Mavericks, and Warriors; however, Sacramento has allegedly withdrawn from talks for the time being. These are some of the teams that may play each other again now that the Pacers are back on top.

THINGS TO BE Aware Of Since the OG Anunoby deal, the Raptors have identified Scottie Barnes as their best defensive player, therefore he will probably face Jimmy Butler on Wednesday night. Finding a solution to get Barnes going offensively while taking on such a heavy defensive burden is crucial for Toronto. With Jakob Poeltl out, Jontay Porter has maintained his impressive play as Toronto’s backup centre. Porter, who is a much superior three-point shooter than any of Toronto’s other centre alternatives, is still helping the Raptors handle pick-and-pop scenarios. Although Kyle Lowry has said that this won’t be his last NBA season, the 37-year-old is undoubtedly reaching the conclusion of his career, and Wednesday will be his final game with the Heat in Toronto this year. It will be another chance to witness the best Raptors player of all time, at least for this year. INDICATES OF INJURIES Gradey Dick and Gary Trent Jr. are dubious choices for Toronto. Christian Koloko, Otto Porter Jr., and Jakob Poeltl are still not in. Dru Smith is out for Miami, as is Kevin Love.
