The Celtics have three starters on the injury report, so they may not have enough players when they play the Spurs on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. Kristaps Porzingis (right knee irritation), Jrue Holiday (right elbow sprain), and Derrick White (left ankle strain) are all doubtful.
The good news is that Jaylen Brown is no longer listed as injured. He missed Monday’s game against the Raptors due to hyperextension in his right knee. Before being downgraded to out on the injury report prior to Monday, Brown’s status was previously listed as doubtful. However, the fact that he’s no longer even mentioned is encouraging for him.
Victor Wembanyama, the top selection, will attend a game in Boston for the first time ever. The C’s had previously faced him in San Antonio, when Wembanyama shown his unearthly abilities despite the team winning handily. As they attempt to shock the Celtics, the Spurs have struggled this season, sporting a 7-32 record.
The Celtics have a 19-0 record in the Garden, which is a franchise-best start to a season, and they have yet to lose at home this year. Even with the departure of Wembanyama and the Spurs, this week will be significant in Boston. The Nuggets, the defending champions, will play in the Garden on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Today in Celtics History: Robert Parish’s Significant Scoring Victory and Other Moments
On this day in 1992, the great Robert Parish of the Boston Celtics became the 16th player in NBA history to reach the milestone of 20,000 points in his career. At the Boston Garden, the Celtics narrowly prevailed 98-95 to seal the milestone during a thrilling game against the Philadelphia 76ers. Parish had a huge impact on the game, scoring 14 points, grabbing 10 rebounds, dishing out an assist, and blocking two shots.
Parish and the Celtics’ History
Parish’s Celtics career started in 1980 when he was acquired by the team from the Golden State Warriors in a transaction that many saw as greatly benefiting Boston. Parish, Larry Bird, and Kevin McHale made up the original Big Three with the Celtics. The squad won three NBA titles in 1981, 1984, and 1986 because to their combined skill.
An Important Historical Day for the Celtics
In addition to honouring Parish’s accomplishment, today is also Tyler Zeller and Dirk Minniefield’s birthdays, two former Celtics centres. Born in 1990, Zeller was selected by the Dallas Mavericks in the first round. He then played for the Cleveland Cavaliers before settling down with the Boston Celtics. He averaged 7.1 points and 4 rebounds per game over his three seasons with the Boston Celtics. Born in 1961, Minniefield finished his NBA career in 1987 with an average of 3.2 points and 3.1 assists per game with the Celtics.
One More Entry in the Books
The Celtics attempted 46 3-pointers in a regular-season game on the same day, setting a club record for the most attempts made from beyond the arc. They only scored seven of them, however, which led to a 105-75 loss against the New York Knicks. This historical day serves as a reminder of the highs and lows, victories and setbacks, that are a part of the sports world.
