INJURY REPORT: Packers at. 49ers on Wednesday: Alexander is not in practice due to…

GREEN BAY, Wisconsin: Brock Purdy of the San Francisco 49ers is the hotter quarterback on the globe, if Jordan Love of the Green Bay Packers isn’t. When the Packers play their playoff game on Saturday, will cornerback Jaire Alexander be ready to face Purdy and wide receivers Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk? Only Alexander and outside linebacker Kingsley Enagbare (knee) and running back AJ Dillon (neck/thumb) missed the practice on Thursday, which lasted less than an hour. Alexander is recovering from an ankle injury he suffered during practice last week, which became worse during the Cowboys’ win on Sunday in the third quarter. “He is improving. Just receiving care,” head coach Matt LaFleur said. “We’ll check up with him tomorrow. Tomorrow, we will be doing some serious repetitions, and hopefully he will be prepared to travel. Just like it did against the Cowboys, when Alexander’s first-quarter interception set up Green Bay’s lopsided win, his presence would be crucial. One of the NFL’s top one-two punches is Aiyuk (75 catches, 1,342 yards, seven touchdowns) and Samuel (60 receptions, 892 yards, seven touchdowns in 15 games). With 14 catches on throws thrown more than 20 yards downfield, Aiyuk tied for fourth place. Pro Football Focus reports that Samuel had 25 forced missed tackles, which put him in second place. “They are excellent at running the football; they mix it up and keep you off-balance,” LaFleur said. Purdy has performed like an MVP. The offence is well-balanced. Somehow, you have to take action to deter them from their game. Tuesday was not a practice day for the Packers. If they had, linebackers Isaiah McDuffie (neck), Preston Smith (ankle), Kingsley Enagbare (knee), Dillon (thumb/neck), and left guard Elgton Jenkins (knee/ankle) would not have taken part. Jenkins, Smith, and McDuffie returned to work on Wednesday. The 49ers will enter the game on Saturday with a squad that is mostly healthy after their bye week. Linebacker Dre Greenlaw (Achilles), safety Logan Ryan (groyne), and left tackle Trent Williams (rest) were the four players who were not slated to practice on Tuesday. They were scheduled to practise on Wednesday. This is LaFleur’s injury report after practice. As soon as the whole report is made public later this afternoon, this will be updated. Wednesday’s injury report for Packers DNP: OLB Kingsley Enagbare (knee), RB AJ Dillon (thumb/neck), CB Jaire Alexander (shoulder/ankle), restricted: DT OLB Rashan Gary (knee), RB Kenny Clark (back), and LG Elgton Jenkins (ankle/knee), LB Aaron Jones (knee/finger), Isaiah McDuffie (neck), OLB Preston Smith (ankle), WR Jayden Reed (chest), CB Keisean Nixon (toe), S Jonathan Owens (knee), and WR Christian Watson (hamstring strain).
