Injury Report News today: Return of player in the Blue Bombers game.
Before Friday’s final Grey Cup workout, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers are hoping for positive news on their injured players.
Despite the fact that they welcomed back one player for practice on Thursday, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers are still the team with more injuries heading into Sunday’s Grey Cup.
Jackson Jeffcoat, a defensive lineman, returned to practice for the Blue Bombers on Thursday as a full participant, according to the injury report. His hip issue kept him out of the gym on Wednesday.
The Blue Bombers gain one of their more seasoned defenders in Jeffcoat, a former University of Texas standout who is currently in his sixth season in the CFL, when he returns to training. Though he hasn’t played since October 21st against the Edmonton Elks, he has 21 tackles in 14 games.
The Blue Bombers are off on Saturday before playing in the championship on Sunday. They have one more workout on Friday. They need to learn more by Friday about the four players—wide receiver Dalton Schoen (ankle), wide receiver Nic Demski (wide receiver), linebacker Adam Bighill (calf), wide receiver Rasheed Bailey (knee), and linebacker Kyrie Wilson (hip)—who were forced to skip Thursday’s practice due to injuries.
On Wednesday, none of them had any practice.
The Bombers would benefit greatly if they were to regain any of those receivers. But before their injuries kept them sidelined in October, Schoen and Demski both finished the season with 1,000 yards as receivers for Winnipeg.
Schoen was seen as a game-time decision prior to the West Division final.
A number of players for the Montreal Alouettes were listed as injured on the report, but they were active for the second day in a row. These players included offensive linemen Sean Jamieson (knee), Pier-Olivier Lestage (knee), defensive back Zach Lindley (head), wide receiver Chandler Worthy (ankle), and defensive lineman Marcus Valdez (ankle).
The Alouettes added defensive lineman Shawn Lemon (illness) and offensive lineman Nick Callender (hand) to the report on Thursday. Both players were limited.

First Grey Cup Injury Reports Are Released by Alouettes and Blue Bombers
The Montreal Alouettes and Winnipeg Blue Bombers are evaluating their rosters for the Grey Cup final, which is in just a few days.
Thirty-one players from the Montreal Alouettes and Winnipeg Blue Bombers combined were listed on the first injury report for the CFL season, which ends with the Grey Cup on Saturday.
Only six of the 31 players—all of whom are Winnipeg players—did not miss Wednesday’s exercises, even though 19 of them were legitimate scratches.
Wide receivers Dalton Schoen and Nic Demski, who are both sidelined by ankle problems, are perhaps the most significant of those Blue Bombers.
Due to the injury, Schoen was declared out of the West Division final; but, earlier this week, his coach, Mike O’Shea, stated that he wasn’t ready to rule him out.
For Winnipeg, he caught 72 receptions for 1,233 yards and 10 touchdowns during a fantastic season. He last played against the BC Lions on October 6.
Demski has also had an outstanding season, hauling in 67 passes for 1,006 yards and six scores. He didn’t play in the West final, but he was a game-time decision. He didn’t play against Edmonton on October 21st.
O’Shea wouldn’t rule out Blue Bomber linebacker Adam Bighill earlier this week. Despite wearing a walking boot, he attended this week’s Grey Cup celebrations while recovering from a calf injury.
Despite not playing since the Oct. 21 game against Edmonton, he finished the season with 74 tackles and four sacks.
Due to injury, linebacker Kyrie Wilson (hip), defensive lineman Jackson Jeffcoat (hip), and wide receiver Rasheed Bailey (knee) were the other Blue Bombers who did not practice on Wednesday.
Winnipeg wants to go down as the second-ever CFL team with ten or more Grey Cup victories. Nine wins for the Blue Bombers. The goal for Montreal is to win the Grey Cup seven times. Montreal’s last victory was in 2010, while Winnipeg’s was in 2021.
