On Thursday night, the Phoenix Suns defeated the Los Angeles Lakers for the fourth time this season, making a statement victory. While Bates-Diop and even Udoka Azubuike have made some contributions, Metu has had his moments. The other natural point guard on the team is Jordan Goodwin, who is a much superior defender than Wall at that position despite his limited ability to contribute to this team. In addition, he is younger and much more eager to sacrifice himself in any position to further the defensive cause.

Thus, adding Wall becomes contingent upon cutting someone else in order to do that. Because of how badly they were beating the Lakers, head coach Frank Vogel was able to employ a large portion of his bench, using no less than 14 players. For minutes, it is difficult to determine who Wall would have moved up in that hierarchy.

The Suns’ season is full of surprises, and Wall is by no means the worst route the team may go in the future, but the player didn’t benefit from the team’s victory against the Lakers. With Beal and Devin Booker producing for the team, the Suns were at their best, and it didn’t seem like they needed Wall, who is getting older, to slow down the game.

As the trade deadline approaches, there are a lot of rumours going around the league. Teams aim to make moves at this time of year to try to win championships; the New York Knicks and Toronto Raptors made the first significant transaction of the trade window.

A lacklustre season so far for Phoenix is a result of both injuries and chemistry problems. Many people expected the Suns to be atop the Western Conference after 38 games, but they are a dismal 20-18 and fighting for a play-in position.

Rumours have surfaced about the playing group’s dissatisfaction, citing remarks made by Kevin Durant and Eric Gordon. It wouldn’t be shocking if the Suns made some moves in light of this.

If rumours are to be believed, Moody and Kuminga may be dealt before the trade deadline in order to potentially play a larger role for a new side. Any club would be wise to choose Kuminga, but the Suns should concentrate on pursuing Moses Moody.
