good  news;Coach says the Celtics are looking to add a ‘Big Wing’ by thec NBA trade deadline…

The Boston Celtics have the best record in the NBA  through 33 games, but president of basketball operations Brad Stevens is aiming to strengthen the squad as it seeks its first title since 2008.

Boston is certainly limited in what it can acquire at the deadline to shore up roster weaknesses that will fit within its salary cap limitations after the offseason supermax contract extension of Jaylen Brown, the trade and subsequent extension of centre Kristaps Porzingis, and the looming supermax extension of Jayson Tatum.

Stevens acknowledged the desire to strengthen the roster as well as the obstacles that lie ahead.

“There’s not a lot we can do big without touching our main guys,” Stevens told reporters on Thursday. “I don’t know if it will be a game-changer.”

Stevens also stated that he is pleased with the frontcourt rotation of Porzingis, Al Horford, Stevens  Stevens  and two-way player Neemias Queta, but would want to add another “big wing.”

As it has been in previous seasons, Boston remains a key contender for the NBA championship. However, after trading Marcus Smart to Memphis in the offseason as part of the deal to acquire Porzingis from Washington, this Celtics team looks different than in previous years. Centre Robert Williams was also dealt to Portland in exchange for Jrue Holiday, who has been a standout for the Celtics all season.

The Celtics play the Utah Jazz in Boston on Friday night, looking to maintain their position as one of the best teams in the league.

The Celtics are expected to make a trade for Bogdan Bogdanovic before the trade deadline

.The Boston Celtics, as they currently stand, are the best team in the NBA. In fact, the Celtics are the favourite to win the 2024 NBA title, according to the most recent FanDuel betting odds. Their odds of winning the championship are at +320, which is better than the Denver Nuggets’. Even a stacked club has room for growth, and with a little more than a month until the trade deadline, the C’s may have another move in the works.

The Celtics are the favourite to land sweet-shooting guard Bogdan Bogdanovic from the Atlanta Hawks, according to the latest odds from BetOnline’s special props. Their chances of success are currently +200.

The Milwaukee Bucks (+400), Denver Nuggets (+500), Los Angeles Clippers (+500), and Sacramento Kings (+700) round out the top five possible Bogdanovic trade suitors.

The Celtics could need more battle-tested depth beyond their starting six. Payton Pritchard and Sam Hauser are fine role players, but the Celtics may be hesitant to give them postseason minutes. Meanwhile, Bogdan Bogdanovic is a challenging shot maker, a useful backup ballhandler who opposition defences must remember every time he’s on the court because of his great deep shooting ability.

Unfortunately, the Celtics will be unable to come up with the necessary compensation to acquire Bogdanovic from the Hawks. Bogdanovic is getting $18.7 million this season; the Celtics will have to include one of their core six players in order to complete the deal. Given how well they’ve played this season, there’s no reason for them to upset the apple cart too much.
