x During the 2023–24 NBA season, the Boston Celtics and San Antonio Spurs squared off.

The Boston Celtics defeated the San Antonio Spurs and Victor Wembanyama with ease, 134–101, as predicted.

Speaking of Wembanyama, the rookie sensation from France had yet another strong performance, but it was insufficient to lift the Spurs over the top-seeded team in the Eastern Conference.

Wembanyama was being his usual dominant self, and at one point in the game, Derrick White of the Celtics didn’t even try to block Wembanyama’s attempt at a dunk. The video, which was posted on Twitter by Hoop Central, went viral.

Considering Wembanyama’s towering 7’4″ height, it was no surprise that White sidelined himself from the lane rather than trying to block the shot

The former guard for the San Antonio Spurs even defended his choice during the post-game press conference, according to NBC Sports Boston’s Celtics on Twitter.

White pointed out that he is not an idiot to try and get in the path of Wembanyama.

After all, considering Derrick White is 6’4″, he wouldn’t have proven to be a huge hindrance for Wembanyama either way.

Wembanyama had a fantastic game against the Boston Celtics, recording 21 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and a block despite the fact that they ultimately lost.

Wembanyama’s rookie year stats increased to 18.9 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game as a result of the performance.

Regretfully, even though Wembanyama had an excellent rookie campaign, the Spurs aren’t winning as a result of his play this year.

With a 5-27 record as of right now, the Spurs are ranked as the 15th seed in the Western Conference.

“I’m not a moron,” White declared.

Start time, lineups, injuries, and more for the Toronto Raptors vs. Cleveland Cavaliers game.

Tonight at Scotiabank Arena, the Toronto Raptors will try to move past their Saturday defeat to one of the worst teams in NBA history by integrating two new players.

The Raptors were depleted of personnel for their 129-127 loss to the Detroit Pistons on Saturday, having earlier in the day traded OG Anunoby, Malachi Flynn, and Precious Achiuwa to the New York Knicks in exchange for RJ Barrett, Immanuel Quickley, and a second-round selection.

Barrett and Quickley are available and will make their Raptor debuts tonight. It’ll be fascinating to see how head coach Darko Rajakovic integrates the pair into his “motion/ball movement-oriented offense”; suffice to say that offense hasn’t been super-successful so far this year, and despite what Barrett and Quickley bring to the table, overall, the Raptors’ most glaring weakness — outside shooting — still remains, and their bench remains woefully thin. Can Darko take advantage of the new additions’ speed and creativity, and their ability to create? We’ll find out! Quickley, for his part, said some promising things in his introductory press conference earlier today, noting that he hadn’t had much opportunity to create for his teammates in New York, and he’s looking forward to doing more of that here. The Raptors actually led the league in assists in December, so Quickley’s mindset should fit right in.

Regarding the bench, we’ll also see how this affects Dennis Schröder and Gary Trent Jr. Schröder has started the majority of the season, while Trent has only started one game (a victory over the lowly Washington Wizards) prior to the trade. Whether he realizes it or not, Schröder is unquestionably a better bench player than a starter, but Trent has usually performed far better in the starting role. Although Barrett’s reputation and salary make me think he’ll start here, I might start Trent over Barrett in a pinch. In fact, I think the Raptors should take every opportunity to thoroughly assess Barrett over the next four months to see if starting over on a new team actually helps him find hise.

We are about to enter a new era. Watch together!
