Coach McCarthy is welcomed back by Packers fans (as long as he loses).
Green Bay, Wisconsin (WBAY) – Mike McCarthy, the team’s previous head coach, will have a homecoming on Sunday.
McCarthy, of course, managed the Packers for 13 seasons and helped them win the Lombardi Trophy. But he’ll be leading the Dallas Cowboys onto the field at Lambeau Field on Sunday.
Packers fans, on the other hand, are hoping for a warm welcome from the home crowd.
“I believe he will be well received. He got you a Super Bowl ring. I don’t think he’ll be able to get you one in Dallas. But… he earned it. “He contributed to your team winning a Super Bowl,” Eilene Gold of Little Elm, Texas, remarked.
“I think it’ll be pretty raucous,” Packers fan Gary Rogaczewski said. “I think there’s going to be a good homecoming for Mike McCarthy, but the Packers need a win very badly, and what better team to get that win against than Dallas?”
The Packers take on the Cowboys at 3:25 p.m. on Sunday.
