No one deserved to be named one of the Week more than Miami Dolphins kicker Jason Sanders. #FinsUP
Jason Sanders of the Miami Dolphins has been selected AFC Offensive Player of the Week following his 5-field-goal performance against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. In Miami’s historic 22-20 win over the Cowboys at Hard Rock Stadium, the kicker connected from 57, 52, 54, 35, and 29 yards.
Sanders wins the Dolphins’ sixth Player of the Week award winner this season. Tua Tagovailoa won the award in Week 1 against the Los Angeles Chargers, while rookie running back De’Von Achane won it in Week 3 against the Denver Broncos. The honor has also gone to Raheem Mostert (Week 6), Jalen Ramsey (Week 11), and Bradley Chubb (Week 15).
According to the Miami Dolphins, this is the first time the team has received six Player of the Week awards in the same season.

On social media, Jake Mendel and I would occasionally refer to Jason Sanders as Jason $anders. And now, after this five-field-goal effort, the most important of which was the 29-yarder he hit to send the Dolphins to the playoffs, he should make it permanent. Perhaps add an extra $ sign or two.

Whatever you want to call him, he’s been instrumental for the Dolphins this season, connecting on 22 of 26 field goals (84.6%) and 55 of 56 extra points. He’s been #clutch, and as we saw in Week 16 against the Cowboys, big games against very talented teams may come down to the leg of your kicker.
