SAD NEWS: A former Pittsburgh Steelers player was killed in a plane crash.

Dwayne Haskins, the Pittsburgh Steelers’ quarterback and former Ohio State standout, shared a terrifying social media message about how he was ‘at peace’ only hours before being hit and murdered by a dump truck on a South Florida highway.

‘”It is what it is” will keep you at peace,’ the NFL player said on Instagram stories Friday afternoon, after revealing to his fans that he was hanging out with teammate Najee Harris.

Haskins, 24, was hit by a truck on Interstate 595 in Fort Lauderdale early Saturday morning as he attempted to cross multiple lanes of westbound traffic, according to state troopers.

Shortly after 6:30 a.m., he was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to police, it is still unknown why the NFL player was wandering along the roadway.

Traffic Homicide Investigators have initiated an investigation into the incident, but no other details will be released at this time.

Prior to Friday’s now-scary Instagram tale, Haskins had last posted from St. Thomas on March 30. He’d been on the Legends of Pittsburgh Cruise, where fans could meet and mingle with current and former Steelers players.

Haskins, who will turn 25 next month, was exercising with his squad in South Florida when the terrible accident occurred early Saturday morning, according to his agent, Cedric Saunders, who confirmed the news to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Steelers Head Coach Mike Tomlin confirmed Haskins’ death and sent his sympathy to Haskins’ family.

‘With the untimely demise of Dwayne Haskins, I am devastated and at a lost for words,’ Tomlin said in a statement revealing his death.

‘Upon his arrival in Pittsburgh, he soon became a member of our Steelers family and was one of our hardest workers, both on the field and in our community.’

‘During this difficult time, our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, Kalabrya, and his entire family.’

Ken Jennings says he’ll miss working with his former Jeopardy! co-host Mayim Bialik, who announced her departure from the syndicated edition of the popular game show earlier this month. “It caught me off guard because I loved working with my Mayim and I’m going to miss her,” he added of her unexpected departure. “I can’t speak to her decision-making process or her opinions about it.” The actress has not stated why she is leaving, but Sony said in a statement to the Beast that it wanted to “maintain continuity for our viewers.” Bialik noted that she was “deeply grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of the Jeopardy! Family.” Following Alex Trebek’s death in 2020, Executive Producer Mike Richards and Bialik took over hosting duties, with Richards subsequently being replaced by Jennings after he was accused of sexist behavior. “I’m just a fan of Jeopardy! and I’m always delighted to host when they call upon me,” Jennings explained to The Hollywood Reporter. “I just feel extremely lucky to have even been considered for this job as a non-broadcaster.”
