injury update: Week 16’s top 5 impact injuries, including Trevor Lawrence…….

Injuries are widespread in the NFL every week, and some have a greater and longer-lasting impact on teams than others. And even more impact on fantasy teams around the world

Through Sunday’s games, here are the Week 16’s most significant injuries

During his NFL career, Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence has started every game. Lawrence, on the other hand, was declared out of a game for the second time this month, suffering a shoulder injury in the Jaguars’ fourth straight loss, a 30-12 setback to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The third-year player, who stated after the game that his shoulder was ailing him, will be tested on Monday

Lawrence was making his 49th consecutive start, tying him for second among active quarterbacks with Kansas City’s Patrick Mahomes and Buffalo’s Josh Allen. However, Lawrence injured his right shoulder late in the third quarter while diving for a first down near the sidelines on a fourth-and-1 play.

Lawrence played five more plays and fired an 18-yard touchdown pass to Calvin Ridley for the Jaguars’ first touchdown of the game. However, he was declared out shortly after, and backup C.J. Beathard took over on the following possession.

Lawrence has suffered three injuries in the last four weeks. He first injured his ankle and had to miss Jacksonville’s Week 13 loss to Cincinnati. He was then placed in concussion protocol following the Jaguars’ 23-7 loss to Baltimore last Thursday, and he was doubtful for the rest of the week. And now he’s out for two weeks with a shoulder injury, with games against Carolina and Tennessee looming at home

A couple of Vikings were among the significant injuries in Week 16, and Addison, who has had a spectacular rookie season, was hurt while recovering an interception in the second quarter against the Chicago Bears. Addison was killed by one of his own teammates near the sidelines while chasing Joseph

After catching only one pass, Addison left the game and never returned, and there was no information on his condition after the game.

Addison, a first-round choice out of USC, has caught 63 passes for 826 yards and nine touchdowns while the Vikings’ greatest receiver, Justin Jefferson, was out with injury

Addison was not the only major injury victim for the Vikings (7-8), who are still fighting for a postseason spot. When Joseph, the same guy Addison was following when he got wounded, rushed in low to tackle him, Hockenson sustained a knee injury

After the game, there was no word on Hockenson’s injury status, as there was with Addison.

Hockenson, who caught four passes before leaving the game against his former team, has been the Vikings’ leading receiver with 95 catches for 960 yards and five touchdowns, and his receptions lead all NFL tight ends

Brooks suffered a sprained ankle in the first quarter of Seattle’s 20-17 victory over Tennessee, according to head coach Pete Carroll, and did not return.

Brooks, a fourth-year pro, has had the same injury since Week 13 and has yet to miss a game.

The Seahawks cannot afford to lose a vital element of their defense as they work their way back into postseason contention. Brooks, the team’s second-leading tackler, with eight tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks to go along with three passes defended, an interception, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery

Waddle’s 50-yard reception in the first quarter of the Miami Dolphins’ 22-20 playoff-clinching win over Dallas put him over 1,000 yards receiving for the third straight season. However, he was forced to leave the game on two separate times due to injuries to his eye and leg.

Tua Tagovailoa demonstrates why he is the Miami Dolphins’ actual NFL MVP candidate

Waddle (72 receptions, 1,014 yards receiving, five touchdowns) returned to the game after suffering an eye injury, but not before injuring his leg, which will be assessed Monday. He went to the locker room to be evaluated further and never returned
