The Packers begged their quarterback’s player not to depart because….
Jordan Love is one of 13 NFL quarterbacks who has started every game this season. He may have disappointed Packer supporters at times this season, but at the very least he plays. He tells fans, “At least his crazy gets to be our crazy?!”
This season, there have been 58 quarterbacks in the NFL. 58! That makes it difficult for NFL teams to find offensive consistency.
Journalist Bill Speros put it in context here:
Packers New QB Believes “The Sky’s the Limit”: His History Says that Can Be True
Jordan Love is 25 years old. He seems to have been pretty “put together” for a 25 year old.
Some of Love’s offseason comments were pretty measured:
I think we’ve got playmakers on offense. I think all the weapons we have at receiver, tight end and running back, we’ve got guys who can make plays. … I think once everybody gets rolling, gets comfortable with the offense and being where they need to be every play, the sky’s the limit for us.
For Love this season he has been able to put up “top-10”-type quarterback stats. He has thrown for 25 TDs and only 11 INTs. He has also completed 304 passes.
Something that has also gone somewhat unnoticed with Love are his rushing statistics. Love has rushed for 234 yards this season. He also has 2 rushing touchdowns. That added threat has certainly helped this Packer offense.
A Brief History of Love at Utah State and High School
Jordan Love has always had to be “put together.” He’s also had to be present and consistent for his family.
Love experienced an extraordinary sorrow when his father died while he was 14 years old. Jordan Love, the son of Orbin and Anna Love, lost his father when he was 14 years old, but he persevered and grew in stature, finally becoming a star at Liberty High School in Bakersfield, California.
