NEWS NOW: Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator is concerned about his departure.
I am a die-hard Green Bay Packers fan, and my affection for this team has no bounds. However, it causes me great grief, aggravation, and rage to see how our defensive coordinator Joe Barry’s terrible coaching decisions have regularly harmed the performance of our cherished club.
Historically, teams led by Barry have consistently rated low in defensive statistics. During his tenures with Detroit and Washington, his defenses never rated higher than 28th in total defense, according to NFL.com statistics (source). Unfortunately, this pattern has continued with the Packers.
Under Barry’s direction, points allowed per game increased from 19.6 to 23.1 (source: Pro-Football-Reference). This has resulted in devastating losses that could have easily been victories if not for his shoddy defense plans.
Barry’s track record plainly demonstrates a pattern of underperformance that we can no longer ignore or tolerate as fans who care strongly about our team’s success. We require a defensive coordinator that can effectively lead our defense unit and contribute positively to our team’s success rather than leading us to lose games due to poor strategy decisions.
We urge the management of Green Bay Packers to seriously consider this plea from its dedicated fan base and take immediate action by relieving Joe Barry from his duties as Defensive Coordinator for the betterment of our beloved team.
