Green Bay Packers Announce Devastating Injury Ahead of Game Against ….

The Green Bay Packers will try to get back on track this week against the Carolina Panthers. With a record of 6-8, the Packers have a limited chance of making the playoffs. Winning out provides the club an excellent chance, but it is difficult to believe this team can win three consecutive (again).

However, that three-game winning streak may have just become a little more difficult. Particularly on the offensive end of the field.

When the Green Bay Packers face the Carolina Panthers, they may be without one of their best weapons.

According to Packer Report’s Zachary Jacobson:

Jayden Reed is currently out with a toe injury. It’s his third different injury since Nov. 21, but he’s played in all four Packers games during that time despite suffering from chest and ankle problems. He’s a tough child.

Reed is quickly developing into one of the Packers’ hardest offensive players. The number of injuries he has played through (and done well) is nothing short of astounding.

Toe injuries, on the other hand, are a different story. While the two ailments may be unrelated, it is worth remembering that Davante Adams lost nearly a month in 2019 due to turf toe.

If Reed is unable to play against the Panthers on Sunday, who will the Packers turn to?

Obviously, the top answer would be Christian Watson if he is able to return from his hamstring injury.  However, another young wide receiver is quickly emerging for this team.  Against the Buccaneers, Wicks had the busiest day of his brief career to date with Christian Watson (hamstring) out for the second straight game. In total, Wicks caught six of seven targets for 97 yards, connecting with quarterback Jordan Love on three plays of 20 yards or longer.

If Reed is unable to go, I would expect an even larger role for Wicks in the Packers’ offense.  He has clearly earned Jordan Love’s trust.  It has been tough sledding for the Packers’ wide receiving corps this year when it comes to injuries.
