The 25-year-old wide receiver is expected to be cut by the Green Bay Packers.

ANOTHER  NEWS:The 25-year-old wide receiver is expected to be cut by the Green Bay Packers.

Lately, the offense of the Green Bay

Packers has been blazing. Their offense has averaged close to 27 points per game in their last three victories over the Detroit Lions, Los Angeles Chargers, and Kansas City Chiefs. The front office has hoped that Jordan Love and his young core of weapons will gel well together.

That being said, the Packers have a plethora of young wide receivers.  One too many possibly.

Fansided’s Sayre Bedinger noted the following reasons why Toure is probably the odd man out in Green Bay:

The Packers’ wide receiver depth chart now features Samori Toure at the bottom. After Christian Watson made a full recovery from an injury in Week 5, the second-year receiver’s offensive snap total dropped to just 88 in the remaining four games of the season.

Over the course of the next three games, Toure played 14 snaps, but he has since missed four games in a row due to injury. Malik Heath, an undrafted rookie, has notably surpassed him in the depth chart.

Even if Toure is active, he probably won’t play many snaps, as Watson is probably out this week due to injury. Dontayvion Wicks, Heath, Jayden Reed, and Romeo Doubs are all getting regular snaps, and Watson will reclaim his starting position once he gets back.

It’s difficult to predict where Toure will find his opportunities. In the offseason, the Packers might want to add one more receiver to the mix. They may still not have a true WR1.

Despite playing in 19 games over the course of two seasons, Toure has only managed 10 catches for 144 yards and one touchdown. This was the year to establish yourself and get more snaps with a young, inexperienced receiving corps, but it doesn’t appear that Toure is in the Packers’ plans.

In 2023, Toure’s snap counts have been erratic and low. Pro Football Reference reports that in 11 games last season, the wide receiver played 16% of the team’s offensive snaps; in seven games this season, he has played 23%.

Toure has 10 receptions for 144 yards and one touchdown through his first two seasons. Given more opportunities, Toure has the potential to be a formidable weapon in the league. But he’s been in the ground for the past two seasons in a row. For this team going forward, it might be appropriate to let go of Toure.
