Before the Packers’ Week 14 matchup against the Giants, the Packers’ WR legend provides a pessimistic injury update.
Christian Watson of the Green Bay Packers is dealing with a hamstring injury yet again, putting his Week 14 status in doubt.
Christian Watson of the Green Bay Packers has been dealing with a hamstring injury all season, and it appears he will miss another game in Week 14 against the New York Giants while it heals. According to Rob Demovsky, Watson is unsure whether he will be able to play on Monday night.
Watson appears to be a safe bet for the Packers, especially since soft tissue injuries like a hamstring strain can linger. The Packers are suddenly back in the playoff picture, so keeping Watson healthy for the final stretch run is critical going forward.
It’s a setback for Watson, who is coming off two of his best games of the season. Watson had seven catches for 73 yards and two touchdowns in the Chiefs’ win on Sunday Night Football. After missing the first three games of the season due to a hamstring injury, the second-year receiver has scored in each of his last three games.
Packers WR Christian Watson dealing with hamstring injury yet again
Watson’s return to full strength took a long time, leading one to believe he’ll be sitting on Monday, especially in a winnable matchup without him. The Giants have struggled offensively this season and have dealt with numerous injuries, and the Packers defense presents an extremely difficult matchup in primetime.
The good news for the Packers is that Watson’s hamstring injury doesn’t appear to be as severe as the one that kept him out earlier this year. Watson also says he’s spent “tens of thousands of dollars” consulting medical experts on injury prevention, according to Ryan Wood.
