A Miami Dolphins player has been arrested for his involvement in a murder.

Avery Roberts, a 20-year-old male Black, and his girlfriend, Tinna Robinson, a 20-year-old female Black, were discovered shot to death on the south sidewalk of 93rd Street, just east of San Pedro Street, on July 19, 2000. The two victims were on their way home from visiting a family member when they were confronted, shot, and killed.

The investigation led to the identification of Darren Henderson, a 34-year-old Black male. Henderson was charged and arrested for the shooting deaths of Roberts and Robinson on November 19, 2002. Henderson was arrested while awaiting court in an unrelated homicide case at the Los Angeles County Jail.

On December 4, 2002, the Los Angeles Police Department, Career Criminal Apprehension Section, arrested Charles Alexander Jordan, a 33 year old, male Black. Jordan was arrested and charged with 32 P.C., accessory to the murders of Robinson and Roberts. Jordan was located at South Orange County Court, Laguna Hills at a pretrial hearing for vandalism. Jordan was arrested in Orange County and booked at 77th Area Jail by LAPD personnel.
Jordan is a former NFL player, who played wide receiver for the Los Angeles Raiders, Green Bay Packers, and the Miami Dolphins from 1993 to 1999. Jordan also played one season for the Memphis Manixs of the defunct XFL.
