Marvelous Nakamba, a WARRIORS midfielder, has received positive scan results after suffering a knee injury while on national duty last month, with the injury not being as severe as his English Premier League club Luton Town had feared.
Nakamba twisted his knee during Zimbabwe’s World Cup qualifier against Nigeria in Rwanda, but he played the entire game as the Warriors battled to a 1-1 draw with the Super Eagles.
“It’s his knee, it was swollen and he had some discomfort, but he’s had scans, checks and it’s not too serious,” said the Luton boss. “He’s been on the grass at times this week but he’s not quite right and won’t be ready this week.”
Nakamba has been a key member of Luton since joining the promoted team at the start of the season, starting in all their league games before last month’s international break.
He is expected to return to the lineup when Luton host log leaders Arsenal on Tuesday. After that, the Hatters who are just above the relegation zone, travel to Manchester City for another tough fixture.
