Junior Firpo of Leeds United is a reported target for his former club Real Betis, with reports claiming that he would like to return in the future.

Sam Byram’s outstanding performances this season have given Leeds the impression that they have a left-back on whom they can rely when he is in the starting lineup.

However, Junior Firpo’s ongoing battles to stay fit after a nightmare season at Norwich City mean that he is someone Leeds must keep for the time being.

Estadio Deportivo in Spain has confirmed that Leeds midfielder Marc Roca is in talks to join Real Betis on a permanent basis in 2024, following a stellar loan spell in La Liga.

However, the report also states that the Europa League club is interested in reuniting with Junior Firpo, who left for Barcelona in 2019.

Along with this, it’s claimed that Firpo has never shied away from the fact that he wants to return to Betis at some point in his career.

Leeds paid £13million to sign Firpo from the Camp Nou, and his contract with the club runs until the summer of 2025.

Will Leeds release him?
Firpo’s time at Leeds hasn’t been great, with him struggling a lot in the Premier League when he’s played and constant injury problems sapping any momentum he did build.
