When the Green Bay Packers traded Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets, general manager Brian Gutekunst was chastised by some fans and members of the national media. Several former Packers teammates, including wide receivers Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb, were added by Jets general manager Joe Douglas in the weeks leading up to and following the trade.

Several former Packers teammates, including wide receivers Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb, were added by Jets general manager Joe Douglas in the weeks leading up to and following the trade.
Meanwhile, the Packers prepared for their first season with Jordan Love as their starting quarterback, bringing in several rookie skill players to replace the veterans they let go in free agency. The organization received a lot of criticism for the decisions they made during the offseason. These criticisms grew louder during the season, when Green Bay went on a four-game losing streak that dropped them to 2-5.
However, Green Bay has won three of their past four games with Love and his rookie pass catchers displaying growth and a glimpse into how good the future is going to be.
Former Green Bay Packers Players Have Had A Bad Reputation With The New York Jets
Of course, everyone is aware of Rodgers’s unfortunate situation. He tore his Achilles heel on the fourth snap of his season and was done for the season.
However, Rodgers’ inability to play is not the only issue the Jets have had with former Packers players. Lazard and Cobb have not been the productive veterans that New York expected when they signed them. Because of his four-year, $44 million contract, Lazard had some moderately high expectations.
Lazard has only 20 receptions for 290 yards and one touchdown in ten games this season. Cobb, meanwhile, has frequently been a healthy scratch from New York’s game day roster, appearing in only six games and recording three receptions for 20 yards.

Fans of the Green Bay Packers mock the New York Jets after Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb were named healthy scratches.
Despite the criticism Gutekunst received during the offseason, many fans have begun to see his vision for the team and are willing to support it. When Lazard and Cobb were named healthy scratches for Friday’s game, they took to social media to blast the Jets and praise Gutekunst:
While the Packers are 5-6 and the Jets are 4-6 (on their way to 4-7), Green Bay has far more optimism than New York.
