The Bears’ defense promises to “turn pain into passion” and respond against the Vikings.

After a meltdown in the final 4:15 of Sunday’s 31-26 loss to the Lions, linebacker Tremaine Edmunds and his teammates are determined to show that their stellar play in the first 55:45 was the defining moment, not the collapse at the end.

The Bears have moved on from their defensive collapse last week, which resulted in a stunning loss to the Lions, but they haven’t forgotten the agony.

“I’ve seen a lot of things happen in football, but that was the first time I’d ever seen that,” DeMarcus Walker, a defensive end, said. “It was definitely eye-opening and a shock.”

The Bears’ defense was making a statement against the Lions’ second-ranked offense, holding them to 190 yards and 4.5 yards per play while intercepting Jared Goff three times in the first 55 minutes and 45 seconds to take a 26-14 lead. However, that defense crumbled in the end, allowing 184 yards and 8.7 yards per play — 75-yard touchdown drives.

DJ Moore had a nasty way of mocking Lions fans.

DJ Moore, a Chicago Bears wide receiver, had a special gift for a fan who was rooting for the opposing team after scoring a touchdown against the Detroit Lions last Sunday.

Brothers Amon-Ra St. Brown and Equanimeous St. Brown collaborate on a podcast. Amon-Ra is a member of the Lions, who recently defeated Equanimeous’ Bears in Week 11. The game was discussed in the most recent episode of their “St. Brown Brothers” podcast, which was released on Wednesday.

Equanimeous told a humorous story about a Lions fan sitting behind the visiting bench at Ford Field. He recalled seeing the same fan when the Bears visited Detroit last season. After hauling in a 39-yard touchdown pass from Justin Fields, Moore had the perfect response, according to Equanimeous.

Moore wrote “shut up” on the ball and handed it to the Lions fan, according to Equanimeous. You can watch Equanimeous describe the situation in the video below, but be aware that it contains inappropriate language:

“There’s a guy that sits behind our bench who just talks nonstop the entire game,” Equanimeous recalled. “It was literally just some fat black dude yelling the entire game.” He was there last year as well. The entire game, in the front row, directly behind our bench… When DJ scored, he f—ing took the ball, signed it, and [wrote]’shut up’ on it before handing it to him.”

That is one way to deal with a rambunctious fan, though you could argue that the fan had the last laugh. A free game ball is a nice souvenir to bring home.
