Ronnie O’Sullivan cried ‘I can’t do this anymore’ after winning last snooker world title

An upcoming Amazon Prime documentary about Ronnie O’Sullivan delves into the 46-year-old’s mental health struggles as well as the anguish that comes with playing at such a high level.

After winning the World Snooker Championship last year, Ronnie O’Sullivan broke down in tears and told his children, “I can’t do this anymore.”

The Rocket won the final frame 18-13 over Judd Trump, and footage from Amazon Prime’s new documentary, ‘The Edge of Everything,’ which focuses on O’Sullivan’s struggles with mental health, captured the emotional moments he shared with Trump and his family after winning the final frame.

“Thank you for letting me practice with you,” a gracious Juddernaut wrapped his arms around O’Sullivan. You took your time, which I greatly appreciate… You’re the greatest player of all time; enjoy it.”

O’Sullivan then bursts into tears, to which Trump responds, “You f***ing deserve it, so much graft and hard work,” to which O’Sullivan replies, “It f***ing kills me.”

He then walks over to his son Ronnie Jr. and daughter Lily and buries himself in their arms. He is then heard saying, “I can’t f***ing do this any longer.” I can’t. It’s going to kill me.”

O’Sullivan’s victory tied him with Stephen Hendry as the most successful player in world championship history, and arguably cemented his status as the sport’s greatest player of all time. But he was on the verge of quitting when Trump made a late comeback in the final due to “stage fright.”

I’m in the mood to cry. “I don’t even want to face it,” O’Sullivan told his psychiatrist, Dr. Steve Peters, as he waited to return to the action. “I’m looking at my cue, and my vision is blurry.” “I’m terrified, mate.”

Ronnie O’Sullivan: The Edge of Everything will be released exclusively in theaters on November 21st, and will include a live Q&A with Ronnie, Executive Producer David Beckham, and Director Sam Blair. The film will then be released on Prime Video in the United Kingdom and Ireland on November 23rd, before being released in select cinemas nationwide on November 24th.
