A Nottingham Forest player has a new injury setback while serving abroad.

Taiwo Awoniyi, a striker for Nottingham Forest, has experienced yet another injury setback while playing for Nigeria internationally.

The 26-year-old has just lately fully recovered from a groin injury that kept him out of several Steve Cooper games.

After coming on as a substitute in the 3-0 loss to Liverpool, he started the games against Aston Villa and West Ham United.

Despite his goal against David Moyes’ team, the striker was clearly not fully recovered from his most recent setback.

Nigeria and Lesotho drew 1-1 in their most recent match, which Awoniyi started. However, the forward for Forest was replaced in the 66th minute.

At the time, there was no sign that his groin issue was returning, but yesterday the Nigerian Football Association made an announcement regarding the striker’s availability.
They verified that the 26-year-old had, possibly just as a precaution, returned to Forest following a problem with his groin.

Fans of Forest may be concerned about the news, but let’s hope he’s well enough to play Brighton on Saturday.

Awoniyi, the striker, has carried over his outstanding play from the previous campaign. He leads the Reds in scoring with four goals in the Premier League this year.

The 26-year-old’s lack of fitness following his injury issues has been evident in recent weeks, and concerns were raised when he was chosen during this break.

With any luck, Awoniyi will be able to recuperate before the Premier League returns the following weekend.
