NEWS NOW: Mark Williams plays ‘outrageous’ snooker from an impossible angle while grinning mischievously.

Mark Williams, a veteran Welsh player, won praise from snooker fans for his “outrageous” snooker on Tuesday during the 2023 Champion of Champions tournament.

Snooker players have praised Mark Williams for a “outrageous” shot in which he snookered his opponent and then grinned cheekily.

In the 2023 Champion of Champions on Tuesday night, the 48-year-old Welshman faced off against Robert Milkins with the goal of securing a spot in the final eight. Fans were only mentioning Williams’ name, even though Milkins won the match.

With only pink and black on the table and trailing by fourteen points, Williams needed a snooker to have any chance of winning the sixth frame. He deliberately missed the pink that was dangling over the pocket, and he snookered Milkins by getting the cue ball behind the black.

Williams was defeated 4–2 by Milkins, but Robert Hawkins easily defeated the Englishman after that. Hawkins also defeated Luca Brecal en route to the semifinals.

“I’m delighted to get through because all the groups here are tough with tournament winners,” Hawkins remarked in a statement following Tuesday’s events. “They’re all excellent athletes. Everyone could advance because the first match has a short format.
