Ryan Day on narrowly avoiding Macau controversy and searching for a spark

Ryan Day was supposed to participate in the snooker demonstration that has generated a lot of buzz, but he withdrew and, in contrast to the other five players, will be playing at the Northern Ireland Open. As a result, the Macau Five almost had a sixth member.

Day was included on the Macau Snooker Masters poster alongside Mark Selby, John Higgins, Ali Carter, Luca Brecel, and Thepchaiya Un-Nooh. However, in contrast to the other five players, Day was not mentioned in the World Snooker Tour statement that threatened to withhold fines should the player appear in the exhibition.

Due to the event’s scheduling conflict with the Northern Ireland Open, WST felt that a number of elite players would choose an exhibition to a ranking competition.
