Tuesday Cheese Curds: 2023: What will the Packers discover?
Answers to some of the most important questions are beginning to reach the Packers.
- Big and little questions still plague the 2023 Packers, but it appears that some solutions might be on the horizon after Sunday’s game. The Packers’ stable of young pass catchers was one of the greatest offensive question marks this season.
Whowould emerge, if anyone? Is Christian Watson able to improve upon his 2022 campaign? When will the four rookies selected early in the draft start to perform up to par? Some of those questions appeared to be addressed in Week 10. If nothing else, it appears that a few of the rookie pass catchers from this season are starting to show their mettle.
There were also some concerns about the defense. The Packers have had trouble stopping the run for the majority of Joe Barry’s career. This season, it was unclear if that would improve.
Although Barry’s defense has made some progress recently, Sunday’s loss to the Steelers was a pretty solid indication that things will never get better.
As evidence regarding their season-long questions continues to emerge, the more relevant issue becomes what the Packers will do with that information. Will they make changes? Alter their approach? Do something, anything different? Or will they continue on their present course, hoping that their past decisions and the “potential” of their players will save them?
