Opportunities to win escaped Green BayA throw meant for Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson is deflected by Pittsburgh Steelers CB Patrick Peterson. Keanu Neal, a safety for the Steelers, made the interception.
Pittsboro – At Acrisure Stadium on Sunday, the Packers suffered a 23-19 defeat to the Steelers in another game that came down to the win.

There were plenty of Keanu Neal, for the Packers to win this game.
The Packers offense, led by quarterback Jordan Love, was once again denied late-game opportunities on the road as two drives in the last five minutes entered the red zone. However, two cracks at the end zone resulted in interceptions.

We had two chances to win the game, and their defense makes a play, as we’ve seen numerous times on film,” head coach Matt LaFleur stated.Christian Watson was supposed to get the first pass targeted for the end zone on second down from the 14-yard line. After veteran cornerback Patrick Peterson deflected the ball in the back corner, safety Keanu Neal of the Steelers recovered for an interception.  In an attempt to encourage Pittsburgh to bite on the out route, the Packers attempted an out-and-up.

However, LaFleur stated that Love should have tried to throw backside because the Steelers’ coverage wasn’t the best for that approach.

Love stated, “The DB tipped it, which was a nice play. “Terrific play by him.”

With one final play remaining and three seconds remaining on the clock, Love led the Packers all the way to the Pittsburgh 16-yard line on the second one. The plan was to use a corner route on the right side to break up some coverage and open up space for an in cut underneath, but Damontae Kazee, the Steelers’ safety, picked it off at the goal line.

They defended the goal line, and that’s a play we practice at the end of the game all the time,” LaFleur stated. “They didn’t back up.”
