The elite amateur players who will compete at the 2023 MrQ UK Championship have been confirmed by the WPBSA and World Snooker Tour (WST). These players have earned their spots through official WPBSA pathways.
The first Triple Crown Series event of the season, which will take place at York Barbican from 25 November to 3 December 2023, will have a tiered format, similar to that of 2022, with the top 16 seeds advancing to the final rounds.
The remaining athletes will compete in the Leicester qualifying rounds from November 18–23, with 16 of them expected to advance to the round of 32.
WPBSA Eligibility
Up to 16* players who have earned their spots through new pathway opportunities for elite performers through events arranged and managed by the WPBSA Group will be on the pitch this season.
*The total number of professional entries received may affect this figure. In the event that all 129 active professionals apply, the WPBSA will receive 15 spots.

Craig Steadman, the player ranked second on the Q Tour UK/Europe Rankings after Event 3, will be the first reserve player in the event that fewer than 129 professional players enter the competition.
Any open spots in the draw will be filled from the WST Q School Order of Merit for 2023.

CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS DRAW
The 2023 Champion of Champions draw is complete. Jimmy White, the World Seniors Champion, and UK Champion Mark Allen will square off in the opening match, which will be broadcast live on ITV4 and other global platforms from the University of Bolton Stadium Hotel. Mark Allen also won the World Grand Prix.

On Wednesday, November 15, Ronnie O’Sullivan will start his defence of the Champion of Champions title against the winner of the International Championship or, if the International winner has already qualified for the event, Six-Red world champion Ding Junhui in the opening match of Group One. In the other Group One match, Shoot Out winner and recent Northern Ireland Open runner-up Chris Wakelin takes on four-time world champion John Higgins.
On Tuesday, November 14, world champion Luca Brecel will play European Masters winner Barry Hawkins in the opening round of the Champion of Champions tournament. Mark Williams, who qualified by winning the British Open last month, will play Robert Milkins, the winner of the Welsh Open, in the second match of Group Two.
Judd Trump will be looking to continue his recent hot streak in Bolton, after snapping up the English Open, Wuhan Open and Northern Ireland Open in October. The Ace in the Pack takes to the green baize on Thursday 16th November against the World Women’s champion Baipat Siripaporn. Meanwhile Championship League Snooker Ranking winner Shaun Murphy lines up against Scottish Open winner Gary Wilson.
Following the tournament opener between Mark Allen and Jimmy White, World Championship runner-up and WST Classic winner Mark Selby faces German Masters champion Ali Carter to round out the first afternoon session.
The top four seeds, defending champion Ronnie O’Sullivan, world champion Luca Brecel, Masters champion Judd Trump and UK champion Mark Allen were all drawn into individual groups. The following four seeds were then assigned to the corresponding groups. The remainder of the field were drawn randomly to complete the draw for the 2023 Champion of Champions.
Tickets are available for £15 per session, and for £110, fans can purchase a VIP pass to see one of snooker’s greatest shows.
