LATEST NEWS NOW: Host of a Cleveland sports talk programme not convinced Bobby Wagner belongs in the Hall of Fame.

Here’s a new one, though.

When discussing the Browns’ defeat by the Seattle Seahawks, a co-host of the Ultimate Cleveland Sports Show started talking about the former Seattle defences. “Adam the Bull,” one of the hosts, was adamant at the start of the show that Bobby Wagner wasn’t deserving of the Hall of Fame.

Before they gave him Wagner’s statistics.

Here’s the relevant clip—it’s almost too stupid to post.

During the KJ Wright show on 710 Sports on Wednesday morning, the video was broadcast. The podcast from Wednesday starts at minute 22, and it includes Wright’s response in addition to those from Mike Salk and Brock Huard.

One could argue against the greatness of someone like Kam Chancellor, who played strong safety for just eight seasons but may be the greatest to ever do so.

However, over the course of his career, Luke Kuechly of Carolina—whose career has now lasted four years less than Bobby Wagner’s—was the only linebacker to be mentioned in the same breath as Wagner.9-time All-Pro Bobby Wagner out as LA Rams LB, reports say

Wagner’s statistics, which include eight Pro Bowls and six First-Team All-Pro selections, were read aloud by the Ultimate Cleveland Sports Show team, which includes former Seahawk Tyvis Powell.

For ADam, that seemed to be the end.

As it ought to:

I’m not sure if they were only trying to get attention, but if so, well done.

However, we think it’s absurd that he’s continuing at this level now that every other member of the renowned and well-liked defence has retired.

Specifically, Wagner might not have the mobility to play elite coverage, but Clint Hurtt and the team have recognised this and are using his acumen and run-stopping skills to their advantage, and it’s working wonders.

It won’t be discussed over Bobby Wagner’s twelve-year career whether he deserves to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, but rather whether he was one of the top two or three players to ever play the position.

He is already well ahead of schedule to surpass the number of tackles he had with the Rams the previous season and is on track to record his fourth straight season with 150 or more tackles.

It’s unbelievable that he’s still this good and was able to rejoin the team at a crucial juncture.According to DVOA, the Seahawks have faced the easiest schedule in the NFL.

The Cleveland Browns’ Most Important Run of NCAA lists allegations against Louisville's Clint Hurtt - Sports IllustratedGames

The Cleveland Browns schedule through eight weeks and seven games has been a rollercoaster, to say the least. They have not put more than two straight wins together not have had back-to-back losses, leading to a 4-3 record. With four of the first five games at home, the past two have been tough road tests going down to the last minute. The Browns went 1-1 in those close games, and three weeks ago needed a missed field goal to win the game. Most Browns fans will be satisfied with a 4-3 record, but the team is 1-2 in divisional tests with more games against familiar foes in the near future. With some of the biggest players consistently out and no real stability anywhere on offense, the next game will be as crucial as ever to get some sort of repetition. That being said, the current three-game stretch could be the deciding factor of the entire Browns schedule. A 2-1 or 3-0 record gives them playoff aspirations, while 1-2 or 0-3 means the season could be close to crashing. The Arizona Cardinals are the next team the Browns will play. With a 1-7 record, the Cardinals have the worst record in the league. They have lost five straight games, with their lone victory occurring in week three. Due to the trade of their starting quarterback Joshua Dobbs at the trade deadline, the Cardinals are facing their own quarterback issues. Former Brown Dobbs was a productive player for the Cardinals who started every game. They have only had one quarterback attempt this year from all other quarterbacks, though, as Kyler Murray’s return is uncertain.

They have also only averaged 18.9 points per game on offence and have played without their starting running back for the entire season. They are third in the year’s total rushing yards and 24th in the year’s total passing yards. Conversely, their rushing defence has allowed the third-most rushing yards of the season, while their passing defence has been mediocre.
