Burrow leads the Bengals past the 49 with three touchdown passes.
Burrow appeared like his old self again after being limited early in the season by a calf injury, which suggests the Bengals are contenders.
With three touchdown passes from Burrow and two interceptions from Cincinnati in the second half, the Bengals defeated the San Francisco 49ers 31–17 on Sunday, their fourth victory in five games.
“At this point, all you have to say is ‘Hello, Burrow.'” Ja’Marr Chase, a receiver, welcomed him back.
At one point, Burrow completed 19 straight passes for the Bengals, and he finished 28 for 32 for 283 yards against a 49ers (5-3) defence that has struggled recently in an uncharacteristic manner.
California’s Santa Clara (AP) — The tone was set early by Joe Burrow, who successfully avoided two sack attempts, scrambled away, and converted a third-down pass to extend Cincinnati’s opening touchdown drive.
For the Bengals (4-3), however, what he could accomplish with his legs was nearly as significant as his preseason calf injury, which had severely limited him prior to the bye week.
On the first drive, there was an escape act that resulted in Tee Higgins’ completion. On a third-and-nine, he audibled into a quarterback draw and scored with a 10-yard run. In the third quarter, there was a 20-yard scurry to set up a field goal. There were chances for runs and play-action passes because it was possible to play from under centre.

For the 49ers to lose, Purdy fumbled on a strip-sack to Trey Hendrickson. This is the first time since Kyle Shanahan’s rookie campaign in 2017 that the team has been held to 17 points or fewer in three straight games.
“This isn’t on any one coach or any one side of the ball,” Shanahan said. “We haven’t scored over 20 points here in three weeks too. I think our defense needs to be better, our offense needs to do better, our team needs to do better.”
Burrow and the Bengals started fast as he connected on TD passes to Tyler Boyd and Andrei Iosivas on the first two drives of the game to take a 14-7 lead.
Cincinnati had chances to add to the lead but Evan McPherson missed a 50-yard field goal following a third-down sack and Irv Smith lost a fumble at the 49ers 5 late in the half to keep it 14-10.
