When Newcastle gets ready to play Crystal Palace at St. James’ Park this weekend, Alexander Isak is questionable.
During the international break, the striker withdrew from the Sweden squad due to a knee injury he sustained during the Magpies’ 2-2 draw with West Ham.
Isak scored twice in the game, however he was replaced late due to a knock, which first raised questions about his fitness.
Before Eddie Howe’s team plays again on Saturday afternoon, those concerns still exist, although the 24-year-old might not be left out.
Isak able to play this next weekend?
Isak is expected to play for Newcastle this weekend against Crystal Palace despite his knock.
According to reports, he has previously been playing through a small knee ailment, so it is unlikely that this problem would require surgery and keep him out of the game.
Given that he has time to recover over the break and that the issue is not very serious, the Sweden international ought to be ready.

Isak able to play this next weekend?
After the match against West Ham, boss Howe gave an explanation for Isak’s substitution and expressed optimism that he would be ready to play against Palace.
He stated: “Alex indicated that he needed to step down, therefore he was a natural replacement. I really only intended to employ him [Callum Wilson] in an emergency.
“Hopefully, Alex will be alright.”
Isak is anticipated to play for Newcastle, but if his injury persists, he will be in the treatment room with a number of other players.
Joelinton and Callum Wilson are sidelined, and Harvey Barnes is gone for good.
Despite their injuries, Sven Botman and Joe Willock plan to return this weekend.
Sandro Tonali may remain anonymous while his illicit betting activities are being looked into.
Howe will be hopeful that his striker is fit to play when his team hosts Palace at St. James’ Park because he does not want Isak to add himself to the long list of important players sidelined.
