Edwards is optimistic that Town’s players still think Luton can avoid relegation.

Rob Edwards, the manager of the Hatters, is certain that Town’s team still believes they can stay in the Championship this year.

Luton had lost six of their first eight Premier League games and had only managed one victory and one draw before the international break.

The Hatters are currently in fourth place, clear of the drop zone on goal differential, despite their last four losses—all by a single goal, including one against Tottenham Hotspur, the team at the top of the table.

After losing against Ange Postecoglou’s team, Edwards was asked if he thought his team’s chances of surviving were diminishing. He said, “No, not at all.”

“We’re playing well and competing well in every game.

“We’ve put teams under pressure, created opportunities, and displayed a lot of quality, but we don’t have enough points to show for it.

“It would be challenging if we weren’t playing well and were getting beat up every week, but we do need to pick things up fast and make sure our mindset is correct at all times.

“I don’t see that right now, and I doubt that any of you would claim to have seen it either.

“You see a devoted team, you see a fighting team.

“We’re going to be an out-of-possession club that needs to be organised and attempt to harm opponents with our strengths when we can, just like we were last year, but especially in this league.

“I’m witnessing a lot of stuff and fantastic performances, but the points are actually what sustain the belief as well.

“However, it’s still early enough to ensure that the belief endures.

“We can heal, reclaim some corpses, and move on once more.

“We deserve this, so we can’t feel sorry for ourselves.

“We’re testing ourselves against the bigger boys here because we wanted to be here after we got promoted.

“Both the boys and I are having a great time.

“They may say they’re enjoying it, but let me be clear—we don’t enjoy losing.

Thus, if we continue to put in the effort and advance, as we are, we will gain points.

Luton’s attempt to accomplish that now looks more and more unlikely as they travel to Nottingham Forest on Saturday and Aston Villa the following Sunday.

Before the year ends, they play against Arsenal, Manchester City, and Newcastle United in December and Liverpool and Manchester United in November.

According to Edwards, it’s normal to mix it up with the big guys and not be afraid of the responsibilities ahead. He continued, saying, “Every game is difficult, what’s the sense of looking at the schedule, who have we got next? It is irrelevant.

“I know the next few games, but I don’t look too far ahead right now because it’s hard, hard, hard.”

Each one poses a unique set of issues and challenges, but they’re all ones we’re eager to take on.

“It also offers the chance to win games and earn points.”
