THE Newcastle now eyeing January move for 24-year-old Thomas Tuchel would love Bayern Munich to sign

Trevoh Chalobah, a versatile defender who is prepared to leave Chelsea in the winter, is a player Newcastle United is interested in acquiring during the January transfer window.

According to a report from 90min, Bayern Munich is also reportedly interested in the 24-year-old, who has yet to make an appearance for Mauricio Pochettino’s team this year.

Trevoh Chalobah appears to be in the process of moving soon. According to 90min, he was unable to complete a transfer to Bayern Munich or Nottingham Forest at the end of the summer transfer season.

The two are still drawn to Chalobah. Newcastle, Brentford, and Fulham are also in the running, 90min notes. Additionally, the list of groups looking at prospective moves includes Borussia Dortmund, Juventus, and Roma.

According to the article, s TuchThomael is a passionate Chalobah fan. Therefore, it wouldn’t come as a major surprise if Bayern were the team vying to sign him.

Newcastle, though, is hard to rule out in any race. The Magpies are still moving quite quickly. After destroying Paris Saint-Germain at St. James’ Park in the Champions League, they have now proven their mettle on the European stage.A Chelsea player will likely be out for several months.

Any team interested in Chalobah may run into an issue. Mauricio Pochettino and he have spoken about leaving Stamford Bridge. You might therefore assume that Pochettino will not utilise him if he can.

That implies that he might sit out for a few months before receiving a transfer. And given how difficult the January window can be to work in, that will enter into the consideration of a number of sides. In all likelihood, Newcastle will still have a lot to play for when the window opens. Therefore, it will be fascinating to see whether Eddie Howe thinks Chalobah can contribute in the second half of the season.

Trevoh Chalobah has already been linked to Newcastle United, but 90 Minutes now says that the 24-year-old defender will be looking for a move away from Stamford Bridge in January.

Chalobah hasn’t played yet for Chelsea this season due to an injury he sustained in preseason, but he is aware that his opportunities will be restricted when he does because of the abundance of talent Mauricio Pochettino has available in that position.

Because of this, according to 90mins, Chalobah met with Poch in January and expressed his intention to move on.

With Thomas Tuchel, the former Chelsea manager, reportedly eager to reconcile with the player he clearly likes—giving him more Premier League minutes than any of the 1500 different Chelsea managers who have come and gone during Chalobah’s time there—Bayern Munich is reportedly very keen.

Nottingham Forest was also highly interested, and both they and Bayern had made approaches, but Eddie Howe decided to go in January to bolster his defence because Newcastle had also been a longtime fan.

Given their overcrowded roster, Chelsea will likely prefer a permanent sale over a loan, but given that Newcastle reportedly used up all of their budget in the summer, that may turn the Magpies off.

More crucially, Chalobah isn’t likely to be moving anywhere if he can’t heal from his thigh injury in time for the winter transfer window.

To watch how he does for the remainder of this season, I would personally wait until the summer. But we need someone who is healthy and prepared to go, not someone we’ll have to milk through the rest of the season, so if we lose out on him in January, so be it.
