Chelsea’s transfer target from Nottingham Forest is prepared to go in the January window.

Trevoh Chalobah, who is wanted by Nottingham Forest, is reportedly “ready to leave” Chelsea in the January transfer window.

This past summer, offers for the defender were made by Forest and Bayern Munich, but they were rejected. Benoit Badiashile and Axel Disasi, two newcomers to Stamford Bridge, have surpassed the 24-year-old in the pecking order.

In the winter window, Chalobah is reportedly “prepared to explore” a transfer, which would rekindle Forest’s interest. As Andrey Santos is already on loan from Stamford Bridge to Forest, it is rumoured that Chelsea would prefer a permanent transfer over a loan.

Throughout the summer, the defender sent offers to Forest and Bayern Munich but never heard back. The 24-year-old is now behind Benoit Badiashile and Axel Disasi, two newcomers, in the Stamford Bridge pecking order.

According to 90min, Chalobah is “prepared to explore” a transfer during the winter window, which would pique Forest’s interest once more. It is said that Chelsea would prefer a permanent deal over a loan because Forest currently has Andrey Santos on loan from Stamford Bridge.

But there would probably be competition for Chalobah’s signature. Thomas Tuchel, the current manager of Bayern Munich and a former Chelsea manager, “remains interested” in bringing in the young England international. Under Tuchel, the defender played regularly in west London.

Other Premier League teams are reportedly interested in Chalobah, although the Reds “remain keen” on him as well. Newcastle United, Fulham, and Brentford are all contenders.

In 2013–14, his brother Nathaniel was a loan player for Forest. In 12 games for the Championship, he scored twice while playing defensive midfield.
