Docel Haziza, a member of the player’s international team, has advised him to quit the Scottish Premiership winners “immediately,” and Israeli football commentator Avishai Sela has told the 22-year-old that his time at Glasgow’s east end is “finished,” admitting that he was worried about being jeered by his own fans.
Bitton disagrees with the Hoops’ backing, but he doesn’t seem to support the suggestions that he leave the team. Abada secured a new four-year contract earlier this summer that will keep him at Celtic until 2027, although he is presently out with a thigh injury.
And Bitton disclosed that since the Middle East crisis started, he had been in touch with Abada. The Jewish Times quoted him as saying, “He will come back stronger.” He said, “This is a war against a terror organisation that should be publicly denounced by the entire world; it is not a war between the Palestinians and the Israelis.”
