‘Was a dream,’ says Spurs midfielder after getting his first senior international cap.

Destiny Udogie, a Tottenham Hotspur defender, praised his senior Italy debut as a ‘dream come true’ after winning his first cap last night.

Udogie has had an impressive start to his Tottenham career, claiming the left-back spot with a string of impressive performances under Ange Postecoglou.

The 20-year-old had been a regular for the Azzurri at Under-21 level and was called up by newly appointed Luciano Spalletti for the Euro 2024 qualifier double header against Malta and England.Spalletti gave Udogie his first taste of senior international play when he came off the bench for the final eleven minutes against Malta, and he certainly justified the faith shown in him when he delivered the assist for David Frattesi to close out the score.

Destiny Udogie is a wise signing by Fabio Paratici.

“Wearing the Italy jersey was a dream I had since childhood, and now it has come true,” Udogie said after the game.

“I am very happy and even happier with the victory that allows us to continue pushing for qualification.”

When questioned about his start to the season at Spurs, he said, “It is going well, I have to keep working hard and proving what I can do.” “I dedicate my debut to my family and everyone who cares about me.”

Fabio Paratici deserves a lot of credit for bringing in Udogie, who might be Tottenham’s left defender for a long time. When you compare how Udogie has done in his first eight games for the club to Sessegnon’s lack of consistency under both Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte, it’s safe to assume that Ryan Sessegnon’s future at Tottenham has to be finished.
