Rene Meulensteen of West Ham United named Jarrod Bowen as the player he was most looking forward to seeing against Australia.

Rene Meulensteen has revealed that West Ham winger Jarrod Bowen is the guy he is most excited to watch for England against Australia on Friday (13 October).

The Socceroos assistant coach claimed on talkSPORT on Saturday (14 October) that he was “quite keen” on seeing the 26-year-old because he loves him as a player.

However, the Dutchman said that he believes his team dealt effectively with the threat posed by the Hammers forward during the Three Lions’ 1-0 victory at Wembley.

“Were there any of them (England players) when you saw the team that you thought ‘I better have a word with the guy that’s going to come against him’ to make sure that he’s absolutely on it?” Scott Minto, a talkSPORT pundit, was questioned.

Progress

Bowen will now be hoping for another opportunity to shine when England takes on Italy in a European Championships qualifier on Tuesday (17 October).

Although his confidence is undoubtedly high as a result of his recent form, this worldwide recognition should give him even more pep in his step when he returns from international duty with us next week.
