As West Ham United’s performances decline,i might have my attention diverted.

Nayef Aguerd was the focus of a lot of transfer rumors during the summer transfer window, and it’s possible that his recent West Ham performances have changed some heads.

During the summer, there were rumors that he may return to his old club Rennes in France [Foot Mercato, 21 August], but they immediately disappeared. Later reports indicated that he may have given his approval to the Saudi Arabian team Al-Ittihad [Salem Al Kulaib, 1 September].

Aguerd’s performances this season may be a result of the rumors having changed his mind, despite the fact that the Hammers were unwavering in their resolve to keep him at the club.

In the summer, GOAL SA stated that Aguerd had received a £164,000 weekly salary offer from an undisclosed Saudi Arabian team, most likely Al-Ittihad as the earlier story had suggested. Such a large quantity of money is often difficult to refuse.

Who is Nayef Aguerd? New West Ham defender is dominant in the air and compared to Antonio Rudiger | Evening Standard

After staying with the club, his performances have significantly declined from the previous year. His recent performance against Newcastle highlighted his weaknesses.

The defender’s recent performances have drawn attention from people outside of West Ham, as Alan Shearer criticized the defender for his “poor” performance against Manchester City when the Hammers were defeated 3-1 at home live on Match Of The Day [17 September].

As a result of Aguerd’s subpar performances, Konstantinos Mavropanos, who was brought in to give competition and cover for both him and Kurt Zouma in the defense, will now be trying to earn a spot in the starting lineup.

Hopefully, this will soon change.
